Rounding out a campaign trail of her own, Fran DeWine finished her travel to all 88 Ohio counties today.
DeWine made Allen County her 88th and final county she visited. She started on April 9th and made this one special by bringing along the wives of the Republican candidates for office, as well as the Ohio Republican Chairman Jane Timken. She visited each county without her husband Mike but she said they both feel responsible in this election because they want their entire ticket to win. DeWine said she loves coming to Lima because one of her daughters was born here.
"I get to go to beautiful places," DeWine said. "I get to meet lots of wonderful people. I see some of the really incredible programs that are going on in Ohio, especially with children, I get to look at it. It's just fun to do it and fun to have completed it."
DeWine said things are good on the campaign front and Timken said this mid-term election is as important as ever.
"I think this is a very critical year," said Timken. "Since Republicans have taken office in Ohio in 2011, Ohio has gone in the right trajectory. Instead of losing jobs we're growing jobs, we're reducing the tax burdens and regulations on our Ohio citizens."
Timken thought Fran's visits all over Ohio show her and Mike's commitment to the state.
