A special guest visited the Allen County Commissioners Office on Thursday.
15-year-old Kosmos Khoroshavin of Ukraine is in the United States to learn more about our country. He's part of a future leadership exchange called "FLEX". He's staying with a host family in Elida and on Thursday he tagged along with Commissioner Cory Noonan. He was able to attend several meetings and meet county officials. He's excited to be here and hopes to learn a lot.
"I just came here to stay with a host family to learn about their culture, to develop my leadership skills, to take some piece of American culture to the Ukraine, to share my culture, and just to have a great time here and improve my English," said Kosmos Khoroshavin, Ukraine FLEX student.
Kosmos says he was surprised by all the green in the landscaping here as he's from an area of nearly half-a-million people and no yards. He'll be attending Elida High School through next spring, then he'll return back home.
