Good food, live music, and dancing was enjoyed by many in Lima on Wednesday night.Â
It was "Raisin' Bread" the 31st Anniversary Celebration for Samaritan House, a local shelter for homeless and/or abused women and children. Dinner was provided by Panera Bread, there was a silent auction for bidding on some great gift baskets, and the audience enjoyed dueling pianos by "Aces Wild" with favorite songs from the 60's to the present. This fun night out raises around $12-$15,000 every year for the Samaritan House.
"We deal with a lot of things that aren't very fun so this is like our one night to raise money for a great cause but also to have a lot of fun with our supporters that donate in different ways, not just for this event," said Brandi Schroeder, Executive Director. "A lot of these people are people that we have a relationship with all year long. Their clubs might donate, they might do special events with women and children, decorate a room, all kinds of service projects."
All proceeds will benefit the Samaritan House programs. Samaritan House is a three-story, 38-room facility providing shelter, hope, and guidance to nearly 250 women and children and more than 18,000 meals.Â
