The trail begins for an Auglaize County man accused in the beating death of 64 year old Steven Casad.
Gordon Diggle has been charged with two counts of murder, one count of felonious assault and one count of aggravated burglary. Prosecutors say Diggle beat and robbed Casad outside the Friendly Tavern in Saint Marys in September of 2010. Casad died of his injuries in a hospital four days later. Defense attorneys said Casad and Diggle had drinks at the friendly tavern together the night Casad was assaulted but Diggle was no where near the bar when the beating took place.
Prosecution will begin presenting their case Tuesday morning.
