The "Allen County Small Business Owners Advocacy Board" has been created. It's a group of small business owners that feel they have been underrepresented when it comes to development and government. In the last census, businesses with less than 100 employees represented nearly 98% of the businesses operating in the county.

"We're asking to get involved with community decisions whether it's at the city or county levels. We want to start participating in economic development and those plans and the meetings that they're having. So we can report back to our constituents and also carry forward their thoughts in what their needs are so we can kind of weigh in," Mike Kleman, board chair.
