ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Allen County Public Health wants to remind the public to have a plan in place in case disaster strikes
The month of September is National Preparedness Month, a time when you and your family should go over plans to ensure that you are ready to act in case you are faced with an emergency. Be it a fire, heavy storms, or any other emergency that requires you to leave your house for a set amount of time, it's important you think of even the smallest of details to ensure your overall safety.
"The biggest thing is just to take an evaluation of what you have and what you may need, so in a potential emergency you may not have the ability to get out of the home to go out and get supplies so really advise to take stock to make sure you have two to three days worth of water, two to three days worth of food, but also look to your your medical supplies and what you have available, so if you have prescriptions you need, if you can get those stocked up in advance," suggested Brandon Fischer, health commissioner.
