LIMA, OH (WLIO) - School starts this month, and Health Partners of Western Ohio are launching their outreach teams.

With 12 dental and 6 vision teams in various communities, the goal is getting kids the needed services for a successful school year.
On Friday afternoon, staff members started up the mobile vans containing dental and optometry equipment for their dental and vision outreach programs. These programs will serve around 500 schools in western Ohio and will provide important services including dental cleanings, fillings, treatments, and workups, along with eye exams and fittings for new glasses. With 12 dental and 6 vision teams in various communities, the goal is getting kids the needed services for a successful school year.
"We believe in an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so we want to make sure that we're doing the easy care that we're doing—the teeth cleaning and sealants and catching any cavities very early where it's a very easy fix—so that we can keep those kids at school feeling healthy and well. With glasses and vision, we want to make sure that we identify any kids that are struggling," says the Chief Executive Officer, Health Partners of Western Ohio.
