Wapakoneta, OH (WLIO) - This is the 26th year that the Wapakoneta businesses have kicked off the holiday season with the Holiday open house. With locations all over the city, the weekend long event gave businesses the chance to break out their decorations and gave shoppers a chance to make a dent in their holiday wish lists. The Holiday Open House starts the clock for what people consider the most wonderful time of the year in Wapakoneta.
“A lot of people will compare it to a Hallmark movie, which is a lot of fun,” says Lynne Skaggs, owner Casa Chic. “Because it really does have that feeling and the community is just as amazing as you would expect. So, when we have people in the streets, you know everybody. It gives you that hometown feel because it truly is that.”
The holiday fun is just starting in Wapakoneta, on the weekend of December 2nd the Downtown area will be transformed for the Children’s Hometown Holiday. There will be various holiday themed activities going on for the young and the young at heart that weekend and it is all free.
