Honda of America is celebrating a production milestone on Tuesday in Marysville.

It was 40 years ago that the first Honda "Elsinore CR250" motorcycle rolled off the assembly line in Marysville. 64 associates were working there at the time. Honda began auto production at the adjacent Marysville auto plan on November 1st of 1982. The company says the initial 35 million dollar investment in the motorcycle plant has grown to more than 11 billion in Ohio, and 21 billion in all of Honda's U.S. operation. Honda now employs 15,000 associates in Ohio.
