The investigation continues into the death of an infant in Van Wert last week.
According to the Van Wert Police Department, not all of the reports from the medical examinations have been given to them, so until that happens the investigation is still ongoing. On June 28th, just before 3:30 p.m. the police department was called to the 800 block of Leeson Avenue for an infant not breathing. The infant was taken to the hospital where it was pronounced dead.
The police department is working with the county prosecutor, Job and Family Services, and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to determine the cause of death and if charges will be filed.
