After more than 5 and a half hours of deliberation, the jury found Jeremy Stober guilty of sexual battery, importuning, and gross sexual imposition and was taken into custody.
Victims and some of their family members cried, and hugged each other, as Stober was taken away in handcuffs. He was found guilty on 5 out of 8 counts against him, the biggest being sexual battery. Now, he faces up to 10 and a half years in prison. Prosecutors say his pattern of seducing young girls while teaching at Kalida was made apparent to the jury.
The prosecution says this case can teach the community a valuable lesson, talk to your kids.
Prosecutor Todd Shroeder says he will consult the victims to see how long they want Stober to be in prison, then make his suggestions. Stober will face sentencing in 2 to 3 weeks.
