27-year-old Kenyatta Washington was sentenced to 47 years to life in prison for two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault. In April of last year, the Lima police officers found Romelo Blackman and John Dyes dead at a home on West McKibben Street, and Shondale Mayo, Jr. injured at a home on South Roberts Avenue. Blackman had four bullet wounds, Dyes had six, and Mayo had two. Prosecutors also presented evidence that Washington used two separate guns in the killings.

According to statements by Washington, he acted because he believed the individuals were making threats against himself and his family through a recorded rap video.
