LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Betting on horses isn't something you see every day in Lima, but for LCC, it's an annual event for a great cause.

Lima Central Catholic high school hosted their annual, "Nite at the Races" with horse betting, fifty-fifty drawings, and other fun games. Located in the high school gym, people from all over Lima came to watch horses named after various local personalities. Although the horse races were pre-recorded from the 70s, everyone was able to bet on which horse would win per race. To add to the scenery, there were people dressed as horse jockeys, a trumpet player to start off the races, as well as fun music to keep spirits up.

"Come out and show their support for our student athletes, and our band. It's a great way for them to come out and have a great night, and have some fun doing it," says Liam Stolly, Director of Athletics, Lima Central Catholic Schools, Lima.

By benefiting the students at LCC, Lima locals were able to give to a good cause and have fun doing it. If you missed this year's Nite at the Races, no worries — the annual event is set to return next year.
