As summer continues, the Lima City Schools are preparing for students' return to the classrooms.
The Back to School Bash is planned for the beginning of August and they are asking for assistance in providing school supplies to students. The event is a way to get families and classmates together before school starts to reconnect and look forward to the new school year.
"We have always been blessed with the members of our community. Many churches, and businesses and organizations, and individuals who contribute school supplies, backpacks," stated Superintendent Jill Ackerman, Lima City Schools. "We'll take donations of hot dogs and things like that as well. We would like to have those at least two weeks prior to the event."
Those two weeks will give them time to get it all organized. To donate, call 419-996-3411. The Back to School Bash will be Tuesday, August 9th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park located at 400 E 8th St., Lima, OH 45804.
