LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Christians gathered in faith Thursday morning at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center to celebrate the 73rd annual National Day of Prayer.
Community and faith leaders alike led a crowd of Lima residents in prayers to show their Christian faith. There were prayers for law enforcement and first responders along with those in the field of education. The Temple Christian High School choir was also on hand, singing Christian songs between prayers.
The National Day of Prayer is something Christians in Lima look forward to and want to spread their gospel of faith to all ages.
"Well, it felt like a church service. And I felt the Lord tugging and leading me in the direction that he would have me to go with his word because of the fact that this situation of prayer needs to be enjoined by not just the local churches, the regional churches, but all the churches. We need a serious coming together, and that is my prayer—revival from Maine to California, from Washington to Florida, from Montana to Texas," said Pastor Kenneth Keys, Good Ground World Ministries.
The National Day of Prayer happens on the first Thursday of May as the President signs a proclamation encouraging Americans to pray.
