ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Three more non-profit organizations getting some financial help from a local service club.
The Lima Kiwanis Club making donations to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio, Guiding Light Ministries, and the Equestrian Therapy Program at Fassett Farms. All of these organizations serve children, which is part of the Kiwanis core mission and are thankful for their support.
"We can't do our programs without donations from the community. This is how we offer our one-to-one mentorships for children in our community," stated Fran Biaglow, executive assistant of Big Brother Big Sister of West Central Ohio.
"Donations are a key contributor and most of our monies do come from donations. So we really couldn't stay in existence without them," commented Julianne Burk, executive director of Guiding Light Ministries.
The money donated by the Kiwanis comes from various fundraisers with the biggest being the annual chicken and ham barbecue. More local non-profits will be receiving checks next week.
