A Lima man that was originally charged with providing the drugs that led to an overdose death only gets probation after that charge was dropped.

Lima man gets probation for selling fentanyl type drug

27-year-old Derek Kitchen was sentenced to 3 years probation for trafficking in a fentanyl related compound. Lab testing could not determine the drugs that killed 26-year-old Shawn Hutchinson in the fall of last year, so the involuntary manslaughter charge was dropped as part of the plea deal that Kitchen made with prosecutors.

Andrea Croft, who law enforcement say took the drugs from Kitchen to give to Hutchinson was sentenced to four years in prison, for multiple drug related charges.
