December 2, 2024, Press Release from the Lima Police Department: On 12/01/2024, Lima P.D. patrol officers were following up on some leads from Tuesday night's homicide, at 438 S. Kenilworth. The leads cultivated a person of interest, and a known vehicle that individual frequently drives. The person of interest is 43 year old Javin Mayo, of Lima. When the patrol officers encountered the vehicle, it led us to Javin Mayo's potential location, in one of the Gatehouse apartments, located at 2275 N. Cable Road. As a result, LPD detectives obtained a search warrant for one of the apartments, searching for Mr. Mayo and evidence possibly associated with the crime. As a result of the apartment complex being outside of the city, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team assisted in the service of the search warrant. Unfortunately, Mr. Mayo had left the apartment just prior to the LPD officers arriving. Javin Mayo is still at large and remains a person of interest. If anyone has information about his location, please contact the Lima Police Department, CrimeStoppers, or Lima Police Detective Steve Stechschulte.
