Lima Rotary offering a free movie in Faurot Park this Saturday

The Lima Rotary is helping wrap up another summer with a free movie in Faurot Park.

The Lima Rotary will be offering the public the chance to see a blockbuster movie for free this Saturday night in Faurot Park. We can not release the name of the movie, but we can tell you thanks to Alter Ego Comic, there will be some Marvel characters at the movie to take pictures with, like maybe Spiderman or Black Panther. Senior Pastor Michael Lyons from In Faith Ministries will be hosting the event and sees it as another way for his church to go out into the community.

“I see this as part of connecting to our vision, and it was just a wonderful opportunity to bring the church, and get the church directly involved with another community event. A lot of times we are so focused on inward wall actives we miss the opportunity of actually being effective by going to the outer walls. And that is where the church really needs to be going to the community,” said Pastor Michael Lyons, In Faith Ministries.

“We are really working hard to get the communities back together and bringing things to Lima that involve around communities. I think this is one way for people to get to know their neighbors, sit on a blanket, and just enjoy a movie and event that is free and open to all,” said Catheryn Sarno, Lima Rotary.

If you would like to check out the free movie, it will begin Saturday at dusk at the Rotary Pavilion in Faurot Park. Chief Supermarket will have free popcorn for people to enjoy during the movie, and there will be goodie bags for kids between the ages of 6 and 12.
