The Lima Salvation Army was able to assist 583 families which included just over 2,000 children 12 years of age and younger this past Christmas. But their mission goes way beyond the holidays. In 2023 the Salvation Army served just over 18,000 individuals with their programming which includes assistance with rent, utilities, meals, after-school programs, and summer camps. They rely on the generosity of the community during their Red Kettle campaigns and donations, in general, to provide these services to those in need.

So you can donate to the Salvation Army at any time. You know, we're coming up, summer is coming. We're going to be sending kids to camp and we're going to need help sending kids to camp," explained Paul Downing, operations manager at the Lima Salvation Army.
