LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Senior's Early Childhood Education students were getting real world experience and providing educational resources to local families.

Thursday's session of the Family Learning Night program was Valentine's Day themed, with six tables of student-led activities for kids from pre-K through 4th grade. Activities like crafts and writing prompts helped the younger kids improve skills like spelling and vocabulary. Family Learning Nights are held several times a year to show future teachers how to interact with students.

"Just speak to them like they are one of us and stuff. And not treat them like a little kid, because that's a big problem. You treat them like they can't do anything, but you need to do stuff with them because they can do a lot, they are very smart, they can talk, speak feelings, it all just matters at the end," said Chloe Flores, a junior at Lima Senior.
The next Family Learning Night will be held on May 20th at Lima Senior High School from 4pm to 5pm.
