Local Representatives Telling the World that Ohio is Open for Business at International Trade Show

Economic Development officials from West Central Ohio and around the state will be in Hannover Germany April 25th through the 29th to take part in the largest international trade show in the world.  One of the 100 Ohio delegation is Executive Director of the Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council Greg Myers.  Myers and the other members of the delegation will be talking about the economic potential in the state and here locally, like at the shovel ready site located just south of Wapakoneta. Over 200,000 people will be attending the week long trade show and Myers says he as 20 meeting set up to talk to companies about the benefits of locating in our area. But Myers has set up a meeting with another company that is located outside of Hannover, who has already looked at Auglaize County as a place to locate a business and has selected them as one of the 3 finalist for the site of their new business.

"That is the real bonus, the icing on the cake, for us to go on the trip."  Myers says.  "We meet 20 new companies but we meet one that is thinking about us as their spot."

Also part of the Ohio delegation will be Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor.  She will be meeting with international companies who have already located in the Buckeye state or may be looking at expanding their U.S. operation and tell them what all Ohio has to offer.

"We will be focused on the types of companies that will be looking forward to advanced manufacturing opportunities."  Lt. Gov. Taylor tells Your News Now. "Also Ohio is the number one supplying states for Boeing and Airbus and Ohio is the second highest supplier state for the automotive industry. So we bring a lot to the table as it relates to manufacturing specifically."

The United States is the partner country for this year's trade show.
