The McGuffey Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal are investigating a morning house fire in the village of McGuffey.
The fire department was called to a residence in the 100 block of Hunsicker Street in McGuffey Saturday morning. Officials say that there was at least one victim that perished in the fire. The details of who or how many were in the house at the time of the fire have not been released. The house is a total loss. The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to aid in the investigation. There is no word yet on what caused the fire. This would be the second fatal fire in a week’s time for our area.
