O.S.U. Lima a cappella group headed for international competition

They have fire under their feet, and they are taking it all the way to St. Louis.

Ohio State Lima's a cappella group Carmony is returning to the semi-final round of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella competition. The group was quarter-final champions last year but feel this year is their year to shine.

"This year our set's more well-rounded," says member Seth Mitchell. "I feel like we are also working a lot harder. We have veterans that are also helping the younger incoming freshman and newer people to the group really come together and work harder than we did last year."

Their show this year is based around the elements: fire, water, and earth. Singing songs like "Believer" by Imagine Dragons and "Fire Under My Feet" by Leona Lewis, their set shows how things so different can work together. Most of all, the group hopes to empower their audience.

"They can overcome anything, essentially. Throughout life we have a lot of things thrown at us, we have somethings that kind of burn us up a little bit, somethings that make us question ourselves," says Mitchell. "At the end of the day you essentially should always hold on because you never know when that break will come for you. That's kind of like what I would want people to take from our set."

The semi-finals are being held in Missouri, but you can catch all the a ca-action at O.S.U. Lima on April 23, 2018.
