LIMA, OH (WLIO) - More information was released about a stabbing incident that happened in Lima last week.

A preliminary hearing was held for 30-year-old Rocky Hayner, who is also known as Paris Sheka, in Lima Municipal Court. During the hearing, Lima officers took the stand to talk about what happened just after midnight on March 5th. Officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of E. Fourth Street for reports of a stabbing, there they found Carlos Maldonado on the front steps injured.

"As I started to speak to the individual, we started to lift up his shirt. As we lifted his shirt up, we were looking at his back first. As we were lifting up his shirt, I started to see multiple stab wounds going up his back, from the bottom of his back up towards the top of his shoulders," testified Ptl. Riley Brubaker, Lima Police Department.

Maldonado identified Hayner as his attacker before he was taken to the hospital for surgery. The victim is still in the hospital being treated for his wounds. Hayner was arrested a short time later and was questioned by detectives. They testified that he traveled nearly 90 miles by bicycle from the Mansfield area because his ex-girlfriend was with Maldonado, and he didn't like how Maldonado was treating her.

"He indicated that he went into the residence without permission. While inside he got into an argument, a confrontation with Carlos Maldonado. And from there, in the confrontation, he stabbed Carlos," testified Det. Brian Snyder, Lima Police Department.

Hayner's case was bound over to Allen County Common Pleas Court, and the judge lowered his bond from $500,000 to $250,000.
