June 7, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Marysville Post: Middleburg – The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating an injury crash involving two motor vehicles. The crash occurred on June 5, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on US Route 33, near milepost 28.

A 2013 Honda Civic operated by Sarah Van Dyke, 23, of Zanesfield, was traveling westbound on US 33 when she lost control and went through the median into the eastbound lanes of travel. A 2007 Nissan Altima operated by Aaron Roy, 20 of Bellefontaine, was traveling eastbound on US 33 and struck Ms. Van Dyke, causing her to overturn.

Ms. Van Dyke was transported from the scene by Perry Township with non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Roy was transported by Allen Township with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Perry Township Fire and EMS, Allen Township EMS, Ace’s High Towing, and Dad’s Towing.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor, and both drivers were found to be wearing a properly adjusted seat belt.

The Patrol reminds motorists to use caution when traveling during adverse weather conditions and to always wear a properly adjusted seat belt every time you are in a motor vehicle.
