PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - Perry Township Fire Department is getting a new truck to protect and serve its residents.
A 2023 custom pumper is replacing a 24-year-old truck that was facing expensive mechanical repairs. The new truck comes with 300 more gallons of water capacity and also has a seat belt monitor for firefighters on board. The truck was paid for with funds that were already appropriated for new equipment.
"The board of trustees were always conscious of the budget and we try and have a carryover for when we do need to purchase a larger item such as an apparatus," stated Chief Kevin Rader, Perry Township Fire Department.
The chief says they are looking forward to getting the new truck in service and serving the residents of Perry Township.
