ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Economic development is a complicated process that has many ways to assist businesses looking to grow.

The project is related to Procter & Gamble's $500,000,000 expansion of a new scent bead plant.
Today, the Allen County Commissioners, the Allen Economic Development Group, the Port Authority of Allen County, the Allen County engineer, and the Ohio Department of Transportation representatives met to discuss road infrastructure. It was related to Procter & Gamble's $500,000,000 expansion of a new scent bead plant.
The Allen Economic Development Group and others have worked to obtain federal and grant dollars to fund a portion of a roundabout on Thayer Road for Procter & Gamble's truck entrance.

The AEDG and others have worked to obtain federal and grant dollars to fund a portion of a roundabout on Thayer Road for Procter & Gamble's truck entrance.
"This particular project with the roundabout on Thayer Road that is being proposed we went to the Ohio Department of Development and was awarded money there as well as Transportation Improvement District through the ODOT," said Cindy Leis, president and CEO of the Allen Economic Development Group.
"This is just another example of our county team working together. You have a great entity like Procter & Gamble and what they're looking to do. You know this is not something that happens overnight. There's a lot of work that goes into it. A lot of conversations, and those who were in the room today, you think about it; we had the state, the county, our economic development team all working together to how this project, how to put it together, and how it's going to work," said Cory Noonan, Allen County Commissioner.

Federal and grant dollars, along with private dollars, are funding the project.
Construction of this roundabout could start as early as March 2025 and be completed by October 2025. Again, federal and grant dollars, along with private dollars, are funding the project. No county money will be used.
