A picnic is currently scheduled for this Saturday at Allen County Farm Park to honor veterans and their families.
The Allen County Veteran's Service Commission will hold their 1st annual Veteran's Family Picnic Day at Allen County Farm Park, located at 1582 Slabtown Road in Lima. The event is Saturday, May 14th from noon to 5 pm.Â
"The reason we are doing this is we just want to say thank you and show our veterans that we appreciate them here in Allen County," said Tamara Wilson, Executive Director of Allen County Veteran's Service Commission. "We just want people to come out and enjoy themselves. We want it to be a day of food, family, and fun. Just come out, bring a chair, we are going to have live music, we are going to have food trucks, we are going to have games and things for kids to do."
