LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — High school seniors are encouraged to use their break from school to start thinking about their future education and how to pay for it.
The Lima Community Foundation has opened its scholarship portal, offering access to a variety of scholarships available through the organization. The scholarships are not limited to students in Lima City Schools. Opportunities are also available for students throughout Allen County, as well as one scholarship designated for Putnam County seniors.
By visiting the scholarship portal and entering basic information, students can see which scholarships they are eligible for and learn whether essays or additional requirements are needed to apply. Foundation leaders say the scholarships help continue the legacy of donors who established them to support local students.
“Carrying out a legacy, something that our donors put in place, to honor a person or a field, or it's something very meaningful to people. So, if it's meaningful to them, they want to see it live on, and that they do that through providing scholarships, opportunities for the students. So, it's a gift. It's a gift for me to be able to give back in a way that represents all of our donors," says Robin Frazier, Ex. Dir. Lima Community Foundation.
Students can find more information by visiting www.limacommunityfoundation.org and clicking on the scholarship tab.
