Shawnee Optimist welcome the return of their Pancake Day Fundraiser

The Shawnee Optimist bring back their biggest fundraiser. Because of the pandemic, the club couldn’t hold their Pancake Day fundraiser for the last two years. Guest were treated to either regular, chocolate chip, or blueberry pancakes with warm syrup on real china. The money raised from the event helps the Shawnee Optimist with their many projects and scholarships that benefit the students in the Shawnee, Perry, LCC, and Apollo school districts. After taking the last two years off, the club is glad to see the crowd come back hungry.

“I think this is going to be the largest crowd we have ever had,” says Ann Roemer of the Shawnee Optimist Club. “Each year it keeps getting bigger and bigger because we have wonderful pancakes.”

If people wanted to help out in another way, the Community Blood Center was on hand if people wanted to make a donation before or after their pancakes.
