LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Some Lima City School students test the waters of economics in their own version of the "Shark Tank".
These students have been studying what it takes to make it in the business world. They thought up a product to sell, figured out what the cost and profit would be, and presented their business plan to a panel of possible investors. Just like the popular show "Shark Tank".
"We are presenting a light-up Croc charm. So if you're walking in the dark you can see without having to get a flashlight and put batteries in it," said Elias Creighton, who presented a solar-lighted Croc charm.
"In order to get the kids to really buy in and to make it relevant, Shark Tank is a great way for them to take ownership and really learn the material and sort of embody what they are learning," commented Meredith Seech, 6th grade teacher.
Six groups of students made presentations and the "Sharks" were impressed with the students' performance.
