It's festival season in West Central Ohio and one of the area's biggest kicks off tonight. Â
The St. Gerard Parish Festival begins at 5:00 on Friday evening. Â 2013 marks the 35th anniversary of the festival. Â The event will feature new food items such as fried bologna and watermelon. Â However, the famous chicken wings will also be for sale. Â Each year about 4,000 pounds of wings are grilled. Â Co-chair Brent Dawson says those who come can enjoy the tried and true favorites year after year. Â
The 5K will return on Saturday morning, a special mass will be held Sunday morning under the big tent, and bands will be featured all weekend long. Â
Security and the mounted posse will patrol the festival. Â A curfew for kids under 18 will be enforced after nine in the evening. Â
