The arrival of spring is less than a day away and with that comes a greater chance of severe weather.
Wednesday at 9:50 a.m., people all across the state will be getting storm ready by participating in the statewide tornado drill. Emergency management officials say the most important thing people can do is to have a plan in place in the event of an actual emergency.
"We encourage everyone at this time to take a look at their family's preparedness plans and know that that means, so when you hear those sirens what is that safe spot in your house? If you're out in your vehicle what you're supposed to do appropriately, when you're in your vehicle when those tornado community sirens do sound, if you're at your place of business know what the plan is for your place of business," explained Tom Berger, Allen County EMA director.
Once again, all 50 of Allen County's emergency sirens will be activated Wednesday morning at 9:50 as part of the drill. You can find out more about how to be "storm ready" and to sign up for Alert Allen County at https://www.allen-ema.com/.
