ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - It was another successful cleanup program from the city of Lima.
Over the four Saturdays, 74 dumpsters were filled with "stuff,” with 49 loads dumped. The city reports that they had 120 volunteers that assisted 491 customers. Along with construction materials and household items, more than 26 hundred tires were dropped off.
The City of Lima Neighborhood Specialist says, “It’s amazing to see how many people come through twice, sometimes three or four times. So, to know we are helping them out and it’s not costing them anything is really exciting. Because that just means that property maintenance is less. They have less that they have to worry about. So, it’s just the time to clean out everything, and we’ll help you out with that.”
Each year, we ask what the most interesting items dumped were. This year, it was hot tubs and bathtubs.
