DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - The Delphos Kiwanis Club is gearing up to host the area's largest fireworks show on the Fourth of July.

The two-day event, beginning Wednesday evening, is free for the public to enjoy with entertainment, food, and amusement park rides. Wednesday's festivities were headlined by the Beyond Expectations baseball game and the Kiwanis Duck Races, followed by a performance by the Big Caddy Daddy band to wrap up the night. All proceeds and donations gathered from the event will be put towards the Delphos Kiwanis Club's big project to build a new shelter house.

"We'll have a core meeting of about 12 of us out of our club of about 40. We start in September planning for this year, and we try to keep things moving and improving. The neatest thing is to give back to the community with the free rides we do on the fourth for the kids and just the community coming out and utilizing the park and enjoying themselves on Independence Day," added Jamey Wisher, Delphos Kiwanis Club.
