U.S. Marshals apprehend fugitive sex offender in Lima

The U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement agencies captured a fugitive sex offender Friday afternoon at a home in the 400 block of Cornell Drive.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement agencies captured a fugitive sex offender Friday afternoon at a home in the 400 block of Cornell Drive. 38-year-old Quinntel Bagley is accused of kidnapping the same Grove City woman twice since June.

Bagley was wanted for Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Failure to Comply, Kidnapping, and a parole violation.

On June 13th, the woman was found hours later at a gas station after the kidnapping was reported, and Bagley was arrested shortly after. He was taken to a Lancaster, Ohio, hospital for treatment of injuries, and he escaped police as they were taking him back to his cruiser.

On August 2nd, he kidnapped the same woman, who was able to get away from Bagley in the Hilltop section of Columbus unharmed.

Bagley was wanted on charges of aggravated burglary, failure to comply, aggravated robbery, failure to register as a sex offender, and parole violation for kidnapping. He is being held in the Allen County Jail awaiting extradition.


August 16, 2024, Press Release from the Southern District of Ohio United States Marshals Services: Columbus, Ohio – The U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) along with agents and officers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol SRT Team, Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Police Department, and the FBI arrested fugitive Quinntel Bagley on August 16, 2024, in Lima, Ohio.

Quinntel Bagley was wanted by several central Ohio law enforcement agencies for Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Failure to Comply, Kidnapping, and a parole violation. Bagley had been on the run since he was able to escape police custody on June 13th . After Bagley was arrested for kidnapping a woman, he was taken for medical treatment at the Fairfield Medical Center where he was able to escape.

Following the escape the U.S. Marshals adopted the fugitive case. After an extensive investigation Bagley was located hiding at a home in the 400 block or Cornell Drive in Lima, Ohio. Bagley was transported to the Allen County Jail where he will remain pending his extradition hearing.
