The United Way of Greater Lima kicked off a day full of work with a breakfast for the volunteers on Friday morning. More and more people were ready to make an impact where they live and work by helping the United Way’s partner agencies get a variety of projects done that they may not have the financial resources to do, like landscaping or painting. This is only Derek Stemen’s fourth month on the job as president of the United Way of Greater Lima and he is impressed by everyone's spirit of giving and caring.

"This is an absolutely incredible experience for me to see so many great volunteers willing to give their time, but also all of the companies that are actually still paying their employees to come out and serve and make this community a better place to live," exclaimed Derek Stemen, the President and CEO of United Way of Greater Lima.

The breakfast also kicks off the 2019 fundraising campaign, with the theme “Change Doesn’t Happen Alone.” Their goal is to raise one point six million dollars to help with programming at the United Way’s partner agencies.
