PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio — Four people were killed and two others injured Friday night after a semi-truck collided with an SUV on U.S. 24, according to the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. when a semi-truck driven by Gary Woods, 72, of Michigan, was traveling east on U.S. 24. The truck veered off the left side of the road, crossed the median, and struck an SUV carrying five people in the westbound lane.
The SUV’s driver, Amin Mukbel Humaidi, 35, and passengers Nadia Humaidi, 40, Rajaa Humaidi, 21, and Asmaa Humaidi, 3, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, were pronounced dead at the scene. A fifth passenger, Hamzah Humaidi, 14, also of Fort Wayne, was transported by Life Flight to Toledo’s Saint Vincent Medical Center with injuries.
Woods was taken to Defiance Hospital with injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

According to the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m. A semi-truck driven by Gary Woods, 72, of Clio, Michigan, was traveling east on U.S. 24 when it went off the left side of the road, crossed the median, and struck a westbound SUV carrying five occupants.
Four people in the SUV were killed in the crash. One occupant was flown to Toledo’s St. Vincent Medical Center with minor injuries. Woods was transported to Defiance Hospital, also with minor injuries. Authorities have not released the names of the victims, pending notification of their next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
