Lima Police Detectives releasing additional details on a string of shots fired in the city on Friday. Two people ended up being wounded in the series of gun related incidents that began just after the noon hour and took place in rapid succession. The initial call came into police at 1 p.m. from the vicinity of Cook Park in the 800 block of Fairview. The caller reported seeing someone with a gun. Police responding to the call located a suspect who discarded a loaded firearm. That person, 21 year old Aaron Johnson of Lima, was arrested on multiple firearms related charges. Â
While continuing their investigation near Cook Park, police received reports of shots fired in the 900 block of Holmes Avenue, and ended up discovering a gunshot victim at Holmes and Carlisle. That victim, 21 year old Demontre Harris of Lima was taken to Lima Memorial where his condition is unknown at this time. No one is in custody in connection with the shooting of Harris. While at the scene at Holmes and Carlisle, officers got another call reporting shots fired near the gas station at Kibby and Pine. Police responding to that call, where told two teens were seen with handguns near Franklin and Madison. Officers then came in contact with two young males at a nearby house, that were found with replica handguns, but avoided a dangerous situation and potential injuries by determining the boys were actually in possession of b.b. guns. While at that location, officers found a victim from from the shots fired incident at Kibby and Pine, who is identified as 21 year old Curtis Miles of Lima, who suffered only minor injuries. Police did identify multiple persons of interest from the Pine and Kibby incident, and took into custody 19 year old Devon Moore of Lima and 24 year old Allante Johnson of Lima. Moore was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and Johnson was arrested on multiple weapons related charges and felonious assault. The investigation continues into the entire string of events.
