
Gunfire occurred as authorities attempted to breach a home on the north side of Indian Lake around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
UPDATE (8/14, 11:25 pm): The suspect in this case surrendered themselves shortly after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night. At the time of writing, there's no word on the identity of the suspect, or what charges they may be facing at this point. The sheriff's office says there is still a large law enforcement presence in the area. We will have more information on this case as it is made available.
LOGAN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A shots-fired situation in Logan County on Wednesday resulted in an hours-long standoff on the north side of Indian Lake.

"We've just tried to breach the house a little bit ago and the subject has fired shots back at us," stated Sheriff Randall Dodds, Logan County.
Gunfire occurred as authorities attempted to breach a home on the north side of Indian Lake around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff's deputies got a call regarding a home being struck by gunfire on Big Bear Path in Chippewa Park late Wednesday morning and determined a home was struck. The resulting investigation ended in a man refusing to surrender to authorities. And causing nearby residents to be evacuated.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office is asking that people avoid the area of Big Bear Path on the north side of Indian Lake.
"A neighbor's house had been, from Big Bear, been fired into around 9:30 this morning. Individual who lives in that place is handicapped and weren't able to determine until about 10:30. Determined a shot was there, we determined it's come from a neighbor's house. So since approximately 10:30, 11 o'clock today, we were trying to get this individual to come out. We've got assistance from Bellefontaine Police Department Special Response Team, Marysville Ohio Special Response Team, and we've just tried to breach the house a little bit ago and the subject has fired shots back at us," explained Sheriff Randall Dodds, Logan County.
As of 6 p.m. Wednesday, the standoff continues. Sheriff Dodds is asking that people avoid the area of Big Bear Path on the north side of Indian Lake. We will have updates on the situation as they become available.
