ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - In an effort to improve the health of area residents “Walk with a Doc” is back, spearheaded by Mercy Health-St Rita’s Family Medicine Residency Program.
The walks will be held the first Saturday of the month and is an opportunity to talk one on one with a doctor about the monthly topic. They will start with a brief discussion and followed by a group walk to promote health education, physical activity and social connection. This Saturdays topic is learning how to use health care resources.
Tricia Hoersten Family Medicine Resident Physician says, “Knowing when it’s appropriate to come into the office for a visit or when urgent care might be more appropriate versus the emergency department. And really providing some tips and tricks to cut down on any potential wait time that you might have and knowing where you are most likely to get the care that you need.”
“Walk with a Doc” is free and open to the public. It will be from 9 am to 10 am at the Lima Family YMCA Saturday February 4th.
