August 20, 2024, Press Release from the Delphos Police Department: On 8-11-2024 officers were sent to the intersection of Bank and State streets for a report of a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks. Officers arrived and located the disabled vehicle and had it towed to safety.
On 8-11-2024 officers were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Main St, for a possibly mentally ill male causing a disturbance.
On 8-11-2024 officers responded to the intersection of E. 7th and N. Franklin streets for a report of two males involved in a physical altercation.
On 8-11-2024 an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of S. Canal St. During the traffic stop officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, 34-year-old Fredy Hernandez of Delphos, for Operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Hernadez was also cited for having no driver’s license and a red-light violation.
On 8-12-2024 officers were sent to the 500 block of N. Main St, for a male causing a disturbance.
On 8-12-2024 officers met with a female at 24249 Lincoln Highway who reported that her daughter was behaving unruly.
On 8-12-2024 officers responded to the 300 block of S. Cass St, for a report of three small children missing from a residence. The children were located a short time later. A report was forwarded to Children’s Services.
On 8-12-2024 a juvenile female came to the police department to report receiving threatening text messages from three other juveniles.
On 8-13-2024 officers were sent to the 900 block of N. Jefferson St, for a disturbance. A female at that residence was in a verbal altercation with a roommate and her guest.
On 8-13-2024 officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Skinner St, for two males in an altercation.
On 8-13-2024 officers responded to the 200 block of W. Clime St, after receiving a complaint of a male who came to his granddaughter’s residence to confront her boyfriend.
On 8-13-2024 a female called the police department to report that her 12-year-old daughter is being threatened on social media by other juvenile females.
On 8-14-2024 officers were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of N. Canal St, for an attempted Breaking and Entering. Officers spoke with the business owner who reported finding damage to the rear door of the business.
On 8-14-2024 officers responded to the 200 block of Holland Ave, for a Domestic Disturbance. Officers found that a mother and her adult son were having a disagreement. The male left the residence to allow things to calm down.
On 8-15-2024 officers were sent to a business in the 1000 block of Elida Ave, for a report of a Theft of merchandise. Officers arrived and spoke with employees who witnessed the Theft. A short time later the suspect, 22-year-old Andrew Grenzebach, of Delphos, was apprehended and issued a summons to appear in Lima Municipal Court for the charge of Theft.
On 8-15-2024 Delphos Police Officers were asked to assist Putnam County Sheriff’s office at a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pohlman Rd, and N. Main St.
On 8-15-2024 officers were contacted by an officer at the Van Wert Police Department requesting assistance in locating a male who had violated a protection order in their jurisdiction. The male was located and taken into custody.
On 8-16-2024 officers were sent to a business in the 300 block of N. Main St, to investigate an alarm activation.
On 8-16-2024 officers were sent to a residence on S. Clay St, to investigate a possible deceased male who was found unresponsive.
On 8-17-2024 officers investigated a private property crash in the 1900 block of E. 5th St.
On 8-17-2024 officers were dispatched to the 700 block of W. 1st St, for a Domestic Disturbance. Officers investigated the incident and found probable cause to arrest the male, 41-year-old Shawn Huffman, of Delphos, for Domestic Violence.
On 8-17-2024 officers spoke with a female who reported that money was being withdrawn from her bank account from a delivery service that she did not order from.
On 8-17-2024 officers met with a female at her residence in the 800 block of Skinner St, after she reported hearing someone pounding on her residence.
