July 25, 2024, Press Release from the Delphos Police Department: On 7-14-2024 officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of S. Clay St, after a male reported hearing someone outside of his residence whom he believed was trying to break in.

On 7-14-2024 a male called the police department and reported a suspicious male, dressed in all black, was walking around businesses after closing hours.

On 7-15-2024 officers spoke with a female in the 600 block of Wayne St, who reported that her riding lawn mower was stolen. The lawn mower was recovered the following day, and the incident remains under investigation.

On 7-15-2024 a male requested that officers assist him in the 600 block of Euclid Ave, as he attempted to pick up his child for visitation.

On 7-15-2024 officers spoke with a female employee at a business on E. 5th St. The female reported that a male has been coming into the business saying inappropriate things and harassing her.

On 7-16-2024 a male called the police department to report that a vending machine on N. Canal St, had been broken into.

On 7-16-2024 a male came to the police department to report that another male, whom he had a disagreement with, is sending threatening messages to him.

 On 7-16-2024 an employee at a daycare contacted the police department after a teacher located items that a student had brought to class.

On 7-16-2024 officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at Elida Rd, and E. 5th St. A juvenile was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.

On 7-17-2024 officers responded to a crash at W. 2nd St, and N. Jefferson St. One male was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. A male operating the second vehicle, Edward Wing of Minnesota, was issued a citation for a Red-Light violation.

On 7-17-2024 officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Cass St, for a Domestic Disturbance. Upon arrival officers found that a female had been assaulted by a male who was no longer at the residence. Officers found probable cause to arrest the male and located him a short time later. The male, 42-year-old Timothy Bishop of Lima was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail. He was charged with Assault, Aggravated Menacing, and Disorderly Conduct.

On 7-17-2024 officers were sent to the 600 block of S. Jefferson St, to investigate a Domestic Disturbance.

On 7-18-2024 officers and Delphos EMS were sent to a residence on S. Clay St, to investigate the report of an unresponsive 40-year-old male. Officers located the male and EMS determined him to be deceased. There does not appear to be any foul play involved. The death is believed to be drug related.

On 7-19-2024 a male called requesting a well being check on his neighbors in the 100 block of W. Cleveland St. The caller told officers that a male and female were sitting outside, and it appeared they were passing out possibly due to drug use.

On 7-19-2024 a female called the police department to report that her 2-year-old child was locked in her vehicle. Officers responded and unlocked the vehicle. EMS was called to check the wellbeing of the child.

On 7-20-2024 a male came to the police department to report that his juvenile daughter was sexually assaulted by a juvenile male. The case is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

On 7-20-2024 a female called the police department to report an item stolen from her property. The resident advised that the property was stolen by her ex-boyfriend.
