Area youth were able to learn what goes into caring for a horse as well as riding skills.
Fassett Farm held their Equestrian Therapy Program on Thursday, where area youth were able to learn key skills in grooming, leading, horse healthcare, and overall riding skills.
Organizers for the event hope that the kids who participate in the program not only have fun but gain key horsemanship skills.
"So they learn riding skills, so basic riding skills, they learn how to groom their horse, tack their horse," said Allison Griesdorn, an instructor of the program. "We have two groups so as one group is riding, the other group is doing ground activities. They are just learning about the care for horses and how to ride them."
