Addy Homan’s 20 pts against Canton Central Catholic leads St. Henry to first-ever state championship

DAYTON, Ohio (WLIO) — St. Henry captured its first state championship in program history with a 53-34 win over Canton Central Catholic in the Division VI state final at UD Arena.
The Redskins jumped out to a strong start, leading 12-8 after the first quarter behind baskets from Karlee Buschur, Addy Homan and Olivia Gast. St. Henry continued to build its advantage in the second quarter, taking a 26-13 lead into halftime.
Homan led all scorers with 20 points and was named the game’s MVP, while Karlee Buschur added 11 and Alexis Buschur chipped in eight. Ava Homan also contributed key baskets as the Redskins maintained control throughout the second half.
Senior Molly Wendel, who experienced a medical scare in the state semifinal, was in attendance supporting her teammates on the bench.
St. Henry finishes the season 27-1 and brings home the first girls basketball state title in program history.
