ST. JOHN'S — Cameron Elwer, St. John's High School's all-time leading scorer, signed a National Letter of Intent today, making his verbal commitment to Furman University official.
Elwer will join the Furman Paladins, a Division I program in Greenville, South Carolina, and a member of the Southern Conference.
He averaged 28.2 points per game this past season, after averaging 27.6 as a sophomore and 21.9 as a freshman. Last year he earned first-team All-MAC and first-team All-Ohio honors and was the runner-up for Ohio's Mr. Basketball award.
Elwer helped lead St. John's to a 23-3 overall record and a trip to the regional finals.
