FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — The Findlay football team entered Saturday looking to accomplish something it hadn’t done since 1997: finish an undefeated regular season. Standing in the way was rival Tiffin, as the two met in the annual Battle of 224 at Donnell Stadium.
Findlay had won just one of the last five meetings with the Dragons, and early on, Tiffin struck first. The Oilers trailed 7–3 in the second quarter before their defense provided a spark. Desmond Brown broke through for a safety, cutting the deficit to 7–5.
In the third quarter, Findlay trailed 10–8 when Jayden Farmer took over. The running back capped a six-play, 75-yard drive with a touchdown run, giving the Oilers a 14–10 lead.
The back-and-forth continued deep into the second half. In the fourth quarter, Farmer punched in another score from five yards out as Findlay battled to keep the perfect season alive.
But Tiffin had the final word. The Dragons surged late, handing Findlay a 23–21 loss.
The Oilers close the regular season at 10–1 overall and 8–1 in the G-MAC.
