SIDNEY (WLIO) — Lehman Catholic used a dominant second-half surge to defeat Northridge 34-16 at Sidney Memorial Stadium, scoring 28 unanswered points to close out the win.
The Cavaliers fell behind early after Northridge’s Tre’von Rowe intercepted a deep pass from Turner Lachey and later broke free for a 43-yard touchdown run, giving the Polar Bears a 16-6 lead late in the first quarter.
From there, Lehman Catholic’s defense tightened up, with Benton Verrill leading a swarm of Cavaliers on a fourth-down stop that shifted momentum.
On offense, Lachey and CJ Olding connected for two long touchdowns, including a 62-yard strike in the second quarter that gave the Cavaliers the lead for good. Olding finished with multiple scores, and the Cavaliers’ defense kept Northridge off the board the rest of the way.
Lehman Catholic, now 3-0 in Division VII, avenged last year’s loss to the Polar Bears with the decisive victory.
