FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Minnesota quarterback Drake Lindsey was arrested in his native Fayetteville, Arkansas, for alleged underage possession of alcohol and carrying fake identification. According to Washington County Sheriff intake records, Lindsey was booked shortly after 1 a.m. and released on bond about seven hours later. The 20-year-old Lindsey has court dates scheduled for June 1 and June 29. The Minnesota athletic department said it was aware of the situation and will “address it internally.” Lindsey had a strong debut season in 2025 as a redshirt freshman. Lindsey started all 13 games and set several freshman program records as the Gophers finished 8-5.

SEATTLE (AP) — For the first time since joining the Big Ten, Washington will try to keep up with the rest of the conference’s best rushing teams without one of the most prolific running backs in program history. The Huskies lost Jonah Coleman, who ran for 15 touchdowns last season, to the Denver Broncos in the NFL draft. And not only has Coleman departed the program, but last season’s leading returning rusher among running backs, Jordan Washington, is out indefinitely with a neck injury he sustained on April 4.

DALLAS (AP) — The Big 12 is the first known conference in major college sports to strike a league-wide, private capital deal. Multiple people with knowledge of the agreement tell The Associated Press that the Big 12 has a five-year agreement with RedBird Capital Partners. The people spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because neither side announced the deal, which was ratified by Big 12 presidents and chancellors last week. The partnership is designed to grow revenue for the league at a time when some schools are strapped for cash. RedBird will provide the conference with a $12.5 million capital infusion and offer up to a $30 million line of credit for each Big 12 school. RedBird will have no ownership stake in the Big 12 or its revenues, and no operational or governance oversight.
